Construction Site Supervisor

General Responsibilities:
Construction Site Supervisor Responsibilities: General Responsibilities:
  1. Review subcontract scopes of work on the Procore commitments tab and discuss any discrepancies with the Project Manager (PM).
  2. Collaborate with the PM, safety personnel, and Construction Manager (CM) to develop site-specific work plans.
  3. Coordinate and manage all trades on site, providing oversight for the overall project direction.
  4. Ensure the safe and productive execution of day-to-day construction activities.
  5. Schedule self-performing labor, material, and equipment orders.
  6. Delegate appropriate duties to on-site assistant superintendent or foreman, providing mentoring opportunities.
  7. Maintain an active presence on-site to ensure construction activities, safety measures, productivity, and a positive work environment, while prioritizing customer satisfaction.
  8. Provide weekly percentage complete updates for activities on the P6 Schedule to the PM for accurate use of the P6 three-week outlook.
  9. Verify subcontractor billings and work activity percentages with the PM on a monthly basis.
  10. Attend mandatory office meetings for supervisors, held on the first Monday of January, April, July, and September, to participate in open discussions.
  11. Set up the office trailer and interior office space according to Rothco's standard project guidelines.
Pre-Project Plan and Coordination:
  1. Use color coding to identify different assemblies and details on plans.
  2. Review and cross-reference approved shop drawings with contract plans to identify conflicts and ensure coordination.
  3. Conduct layout of the project and verify feasibility, workability, and identify potential conflicts in advance.
  4. Organize weekly coordination meetings with subcontractors and the Rothco team, with meeting minutes recorded by the CM assistant.
  5. Submit shutdown requests two weeks in advance, including electrical, sprinkler, and emergency contact information. Ensure a qualified site supervisor, PM, or approved superintendent with 30-hour OSHA training and site familiarity is present for any utility shutdowns. No live electrical work is allowed.
Quality:
  1. Perform quality control checks during construction to ensure compliance with specifications, verifying plans, details, and dimensions with supervisor initials and date.
  2. Review all approved electronic submittals.
  3. Take overall responsibility for project quality control, including both company employees and subcontractors.
  4. Create punch lists on Procore, assign corrective actions to responsible subcontractors and individuals, and verify completion before closing out items.
Reporting:
  1. Maintain regular communication with the Rothco management team.
  2. Identify and report unforeseen conditions, ambiguities, conflicts, or potential change orders or schedule delays to the Rothco management team via email.
  3. Document project design impacts or unforeseen issues using an impact stamp, including impact date, RFI number, change order number, and cost code. Stamp the affected plan page, fill out the stamp, and draw an arrow to highlight the impacted area. Attach the SK or RFI response to the back of the prior plan page for reference.
  4. Ensure daily communication with the Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR).
  5. Establish and maintain weekly coordination meetings with subcontractors to accurately track forward planning, progress of long lead

    • Coordinate high-level project activities, ensuring alignment with client goals and regulatory standards.
  2. Budget and Resource Management
    • Oversee project budget, resource allocation, and scheduling.
    • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials and equipment, aligning with project timelines. (Ensure deliveries of anything is recorded when it hits the ground, the fastest way to let a project run away from you is not tracking material properly.)
  3. Team Leadership and Development
    • The PM Roles at ROTHCO are leadership positions. Be a leader!
    • Lead and mentor project teams, including site supervisors, subcontractors, and other staff.
    • Foster a positive work environment focused on safety, productivity, and quality.
  4. Communication and Stakeholder Management
    • Act as the primary liaison between clients, upper management, and the project team.
    • Maintain regular communication with all stakeholders, ensuring transparency and client satisfaction.
  5. Quality Oversight
    • Implement and monitor quality control processes.
    • Ensure project compliance with specifications, plans, and client expectations.
  6. Risk Management
    • Proactively identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. (We utilize Gadzoom for AHA’s creation and development).
    • Address unforeseen conditions, ambiguities, and conflicts, managing potential change orders and schedule adjustments.
  7. Reporting and Documentation
    • Provide regular project updates and reports to management and stakeholders.
    • Ensure accurate documentation of project progress, design impacts, and issue resolution.
Pre-Project Planning and Coordination:
  1. Project Setup and Layout
    • Oversee the setup of site infrastructure, including office trailers and workspaces.
    • When submitting site Laydown plan ensure there are all departments that should be involved are notified.
    • Coordinate with site supervisors for project layout and feasibility assessments.
  2. Meeting Coordination and Oversight
    • Organize and lead project coordination meetings with subcontractors and team members.
    • Ensure proper recording and follow-up on action items from meetings.
Reporting and Impact Management:
  1. Change Management and Impact Reporting
    • Identify, document, and communicate any project design impacts, changes, or unforseen issues.
    • Work closely with the Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) for compliance and reporting.
  2. Coordination and Forward Planning
    • Establish and maintain coordination meetings for accurate tracking of project progress and forward planning.
Quality Control:
  1. Comprehensive Quality Management
    • Take overall responsibility for the quality of work performed, both by company employees and subcontractors.
